Resumo:
The presente work is concenerd with the development and application of a computacional model for the analysis of Otto engine combustion. It is based on applying the first law of thermodynamics to be cylinder contents. The computacional model was performed in order to obtain parameters to study the combustion process, the performace and pollutant emissions from the engine. It needs some experimental data, such the time resolved history of the cylinder pressure. The present work also describes the experimental apparatus, including the pressure data acquisition and treatment system. Then, experiments were carried out utilizing different fuels, compression ratios and air-fuel ratios. Based on the results computed with these data, it was verified the quality of the program as a good combustion analysis tool.
