The Cellular Manufacturing System was introduced in the seventies as a new production system and an alternative to Mass Production System. Revolutionized shop floors implementing a new production concept that considered manufacturing flexibility, small batches productions to a diversified mix of products and used in the CMS. The process of cell formation became an important object of study of CMS. Several methods was developed, among them the array-based method. The thesis aims to segment the ways of obtaining manufacturing cells using a flow chart that guides and processing sort arrays according to their characteristics and develops a structure to encompass the binary algorithms designated for this purpose. Additional information is added to the array of data among this additional information, there are operations with process sequencing data, parts processing times by machines, parts demand, production capacity and number of machines involved in the system. Fur-thermore, the creation of the Best Path Method provided a new direction to the form-ing cell production heuristic algorithms by array-based methods, since the structure was able to add the layout of the cells obtained, making the system more comprehen-sive.
