The project of a constructive vanguard in the art of Brazil, as well as the critical passage of dedicated artists and intellectuals to the formularization of a new plastic language, designates some basic questions to the controversy of the concrete art in the country. In this process of formation of a new language, the performance critical and the development of the field of the critical art in Brazil seem important data. The critical position of Mário Pedrosa, Waldemar Cordeiro and Ferreira Gullar, important personages of the debate around the constructive language, constitute crucial object to think the theory and the conception of a Brazilian concrete art. The speech compromised to the new language suggests, therefore, a withheld analysis of the critical texts and the manifestos that give substance to the debate. This is the proposal developed in Concrete Dialogues: the critique one of Mário Pedrosa, Waldemar Cordeiro and Ferreira Gullar.
