The purpose of this thesis is to compare and understand Brazilian and Ar-gentine state corporatism during the period 1930-1955. A comparison between the social and institutional formations of each country and their respective labor legis-lations sheds light on the similarities and differences of the two corporatist struc-tures implanted in the two countries.
