The case study news about crime and the construction of reality: a coverage of
attacks linked to criminal gang First Capital Command, in May 2006, aims to
investigate the reports on crime in the pages of some of the most important
magazines the country: Veja , Época and Caros amigos. For this, part is an
analysis of coverage of these periodic attacks linked to criminal gang First Capital
Command, in the city of Sao Paulo in May 2006. The aim, through this research is
to understand how such stories influence the solidification of the concepts of
reality imagined by the reader about the crime, its practitioners and the laws
designed to punish their actions.
