Resumo:
The commercial sexual exploitation of male adolescents is presented as a manifestation of one of the many social issues existing in the Brazilian society, including in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Despite this phenomenon being seen on the streets, squares and roads of the city, it remains invisible to the Brazilian society and it is rarely addressed, debated or studied. This dissertation aims to identify male adolescents who are commercially sexually exploited in the city of Rio de Janeiro; To learn about their reality in the sex market, and foremost, to give voice to these young men. In order to conduct this study, the researcher made use of two different methodologies: participative observation and semi-structed interviews. Twenty-nine male adolescents who are commercially sexually exploited in the city of Rio de Janeiro took part in this research. They were identified in different points of prostitution in the city. Furthermore, it was noticed that adolescents are named by the sex market and also identify themselves with offensive names as faggot, queer and tranny. This denomination occurs due to the construction of the gender identity and due to the domination of the relationship between genders. It was conducted semi-structured interviewes with five out of the twenty-nine adolescents in order to acess their sociodemographic data and for a better understanding of their reality on the sex trade. This research concludes by ponting out to the need for further measures to confront and understand the issue of male adolescenscent sexual exploitation with the objective to create conditions to fully protect the childhood and adolescence of the Brazilian youth.
