Resumo:
This is a research in the field of Political Economy of the Media in which we study the relationship between neoliberalism and TV Globo s teledramaturgy. The authors Bolaño and Britto (2005), Maurício ([2011]2022), Cabral (2016), Néia (2023) and Svartman (2023) serve as a theoretical framework to the research, which, besides trying to reconstruct the historical panorama of Brazil and its soap operas — novelas —, investigates how the power dynamics in the rural areas are portraited in the remake of the novela Renascer, and compares its plot with true facts from Brazil s political history.
