Resumo:
This dissertation aims to investigate the pedagogical resources and strategies adopted by the Experimente Cultura project that facilitate public school children to visit a museum. The purpose is, therefore, to analyze the strategies executed to promote the placing of school groups with available experiences. Experimente Cultura is a project supported by the Town Hall of Rio de Janeiro City and the Municipal Department of Culture, headed at public school students and young people in positions of socio-economic vulnerability, which seeks to encourage visits to cultural venues and provide experiences of immersion in environments that express the history, art, and culture of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Based on the objectives summarized for this research, two methodological resources were used to produce data: an interview with an elaborate script with the project s healer, to understand the origin of the project and its proposal; and non participant observation of the project s activities with school groups in schools and museums, to analyze this project with an actual running to investigate the strategies and resources used during the visit. Nineteen visits to museums and schools were made throughout November and December of 2023. To respond to the research goals, we used references from the field of Culture, such as Bauman, Ortiz, Eagleton, and Laraia, and from the field of Public Audience Studies, such as Koptcke, Pereira, Mano, and Bevilaqua. Research in this field seeks to understand how social groups establish connections and interactions with cultural spaces, such as in museums. In addition, they aim to understand how cultural practices influence perceptions, identities, and experiences in different social contexts. Audience studies emphasize that not all social groups can access museums due to social, economic, and geographical barriers and, from this perspective, trying be effective in investigating the causes and democratizing access to these cultural spaces. The data obtained during this research show that the Experimente Cultura Project, if providing resources such as transportation, food, and cultural activities both in schools and museums, implementing pedagogical strategies to promote the identification of school groups in cultural spaces, not only facilitates the participation of the public school, but also establishes a significant approach between children and museums.
