Resumo:
The present masters dissertation debates theoretical and empirical aspects about such deficits by means of a study of systematic review and an empirical study. The first study of systematic review sought to identify the main psychometric assessment tools utilized within the brazilian scientific production. A research in literature has been carried out on three databases such as PePSIC, SciELO, and LILACS and 22 final publications have been selected. The data indicates a slight growth on the quantity of studies, samples composed predominantly of male children, schools as the most common place for the execution of data collection, variables and comorbidities associated to attention deficit and hyperactivity, and eight instruments of the most utilized and adapted to the brazilian context. The second study sought to identify the symptoms of attention deficit and hyperactivity, as well as their relationship with other behavioral and sociodemographic characteristics, within a 386 child sample from cariocas (M= 9,46; DP=1,34). The Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) instruments have measured the data. The results indicate positive correlations between attention/emotional issues and attention/behavioral issues. No difference between male and female and neither between public and private schools nor distinct age groups were identified for any of the variables. This data contributes for a wider comprehension of the relationship between attention deficit and hyperactivity and the rest of the involved variables.
