Resumo
[pt] O projeto fotográfico M kumba, realizado por Gui Christ, propõe-se
a ressignificar representações sobre as religiões afrodiaspóricas, por
meio do retrato singular de pessoas negras. A partir da relação entre
mídia e discurso, este artigo analisa três fotos da série, ancorado nos
estudos discursivos e mobilizando noções como as de poder-saber,
intolerância e racismo religioso. Reflete-se sobre a corporeidade
negra representada em elementos religiosos que remontam às matrizes africanas.
Resumo
[en] The photographic project M kumba, created by Gui Christ, seeks
to reframe representations of Afro-diasporic religions by foregrounding Black bodies in positions of power. Drawing on the relationship between media and discourse, this article analyzes three
photographs from the project, grounding its approach in discourse
studies and mobilizing concepts such as power-knowledge, intolerance, and religious racism. It reflects on Black corporeality as
represented through religious elements that trace back to African
ancestral matrices.
