[pt] A Segunda Carta aos Tessalonicenses encontra-se dentro de uma tensão de ordem literária. Isto porque entre a primeira e a segunda carta, existem pontos de contato no vocabulário, estilo e estrutura. O vocabulário é variado e comporta algumas terminologias da apocalíptica judaica como se consta em 1Ts 4,13–5,11. Não é difícil detectar a presença de imagens da esfera sacra. Expressões como reunião, objeto de adoração e templo de Deus, apontam para elementos de ordem cúltica, tanto em âmbito privado quanto em âmbito público. O estilo da perícope também é diversificado e demonstra o gênero dominante da mesma. Uma disposição retórica com os componentes basilares do modo argumentativo da retórica clássica faz-se perceptível no desencadear da argumentatio paulina: exórdio, narratio, propositio, probatio, refutatio e peroratio. O pensamento paulino é fortemente demarcado por imagens do apocalipticismo do judaísmo tardio, especificamente, a merkabah. A imagética com conotações apocalípticas encontra- se dentro de um modo próprio de argumentação que é a estrutura epistolar. Nela, os dispositivos retóricos não funcionam como convenções sem significados narrativos. Trata-se de uma retórica narrativa que apresenta em si, um “mini apocalipse”. Nessa esfera onde imagens e personagens são apresentados, se pode chegar a uma análise de base escriturística a fim de encontrar o background veterotestamentário utilizado pelo escritor. Desse modo, percebe-se a coadunação entre uma forma de dizer e um modo a se mostrar. A linguagem apocalíptica traz vivacidade para o leitor(a), a fim de que o/a mesmo(a) consiga ultrapassar o nível das simples disposições técnicas da linguagem retórica, para adentrar no mundo do fantástico, do indizível e inefável.

[en] The second letter to the Thessalonians is situated within a literary tension. This is because, between the first and second letters, there are points of contact in vocabulary, style, and structure. The vocabulary is varied and includes some terminology from Jewish apocalyptic literature, as was already evident in 1 Thessalonians 4:13–5:11. The presence of images from the sacred sphere is not difficult to detect. Expressions such as meeting, object of worship, and temple of God point to elements of a cultic nature, both in private and public settings. The style of the pericope is also diverse, demonstrating its dominant genre. A rhetorical arrangement with the basic components of the argumentative mode of classical rhetoric is perceptible in the unfolding of Paul s argumentation: exordium, narratio, propositio, probatio, refutatio, and peroratio. Pauline thought is strongly marked by images of the apocalypticism of late Judaism, specifically, the Merkabah. Imagery with apocalyptic connotations is found within a specific mode of argumentation: the epistolary structure. In this structure, rhetorical devices do not function as conventions devoid of narrative meaning. It is a narrative rhetoric that presents, within itself, a mini-apocalypse. In this sphere where images and characters are presented, one can arrive at a scriptural analysis in order to find the Old Testament background used by the writer. In this way, one perceives the alignment between a way of saying and a way of showing. apocalyptic language brings vividness to the reader, enabling them to transcend the simple technical aspects of rhetoric and enter the world of the fantastic, the unspeakable, and the ineffable.
