[pt] Este artigo propõe a reflexão acerca das condições filosóficas em torno do gênero paradoxográfico a partir de um paradigma na tradição aristotélica: Os Prodígios Escutados – texto frequentemente negligenciado do Corpus Aristotelicum. Nesta proposta, se apresenta a compilação de 178 relatos maravilhosos não mais descartada como mero almanaque de curiosidades, mas sim dentro de sua tradição textual específica: a paradoxografia. Para tal, são apontados um conjunto de quatro principais vetores estruturantes do gênero paradoxográfico (como manifestação lexical da maravilha, concisão narrativa, modelo testemunhal e organização), demonstrando a perfeita conformidade formal dos Prodígios Escutados. Na sequência, se examina a interseção singular desta obra com o pensamento peripatético, notando sua relação de canibalização dos tratados naturais de Aristóteles em seu processo de fabricação da maravilha. Assim, a provocação fundamental é de que a paradoxografia talvez funcionasse, no contexto do Liceu, como uma ferramenta propedêutica. Ao catalogar disrupções dos padrões da phýsis, a obra operaria como um repositório de impulsos ao thaumázein, a afecção fundamental do filósofo, que o próprio Aristóteles identifica na Metafísica como o ponto de partida fundamental para a investigação filosófica e científica.

[en] This article proposes a reflection on the philosophical conditions surrounding the paradoxographic genre based on a paradigm in the Aristotelian tradition: Marvelous Things Heard – a frequently neglected text from the Corpus Aristotelicum. This proposal presents a compilation of 178 marvelous accounts that are no longer dismissed as a mere almanac of curiosities, but rather within their specific textual tradition: paradoxography. To this end, a set of four main structuring vectors of the paradoxographic genre (as a lexical manifestation of wonder, narrative conciseness, testimonial model, and organization) are pointed out, demonstrating the perfect formal conformity of the Marvelous Things Heard. Next, the singular intersection of this work with Peripatetic thought is examined, noting its relationship of cannibalization of Aristotle s natural treatises in its process of manufacturing wonder. Thus, the fundamental provocation is that paradoxography may have functioned, in the context of the Lyceum, as a propaedeutic tool. By cataloging disruptions of the patterns of phýsis, the work would operate as a repository of impulses to thaumázein, the fundamental affection of the philosopher, which Aristotle himself identifies in Metaphysics as the fundamental starting point for philosophical and scientific investigation.
