[pt] Este artigo analisa o Benefício de Prestação Continuada (BPC) a partir das vivências
de 16 idosos atendidos na proteção social básica doSistema Único de Assistência
Social (Suas). Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, de natureza exploratória, com
entrevistas semiestruturadas, analisadas à luz do método crítico-dialético. Os resultados indicam que o BPC representa mais do que renda: é condição mínima de
sobrevivência, autonomia e dignidade, influenciando relações familiares, cuidado
e acesso a direitos. A contribuição central é dar visibilidade às experiências concretas dos idosos, superando abordagens quantitativas e economicistas. Reafirma-se que o benefício é um direito social e expressão da dívida histórica do Estado
com a classe trabalhadora precarizada.
Resumo
[en] This article analyzes the Continuous Benefit Payment (BPC) based on the experiences of 16 elderly individuals receiving basic social protection services through
the SUAS (National Health Surveillance System). This is a qualitative, exploratory study, with semi-structured interviews analyzed using the critical-dialectical
method. The results indicate that the BPC represents more than income: it is a minimum condition for survival, autonomy, and dignity, influencing family relationships,
care, and access to rights. Its central contribution is to shed light on the concrete
experiences of elderly individuals, moving beyond quantitative and economic approaches. It reaffirms that the benefit is a social right and an expression of the
State s historical debt to the precarious working class.
