[pt] A partir de uma análise qualitativa e quantitativa feita com suporte da ferramenta de IA ChapGPT versão paga o1 de 270 notícias mais lidas pelos leitores do UOL e do Globo.com, dois portais que figuram entre os de maior audiência do país, investigou-se quais notícias prevaleceram no período analisado nas listas de notícias mais populares: notícias importantes ou interessantes? O período analisado, pela técnica da semana composta, foi de 6 de setembro, um mês antes do primeiro turno das eleições até o dia 3 de novembro, uma semana depois do segundo turno das eleições. Notícias importantes foram apresentadas de forma interessante ou com recursos de Search Engine Optimization (SEO) e de infotenimento nos títulos? Os temas escolhidos pelos leitores como co-gatekeepers nos rankings das notícias mais clicadas coincidiram com as escolhas das 88 manchetes feitas pelos jornalistas no mesmo período? Este é o ponto de partida da tese para refletirmos sobre o tensionamento do agendamento na contemporaneidade e repensarmos os papéis historicamente desempenhados pelos jornalistas: gatekeeper, gatwatcher e mobilizador de audiência. Diante dos desafios que se impõem para o jornalismo, foi possível observar, por meio de uma série de entrevistas com os editores dos portais e do material analisado, que o jornalista na contemporaneidade procura se reposicionar como um curador estratégico ou porteiro de confiança (gatetruster), a fim de manter a relevância e reforçar os valores do jornalismo na sociedade democrática.

[en] Based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis conducted with the support of the paid version 01 of the AI tool ChatGPT, 270 most popular news of UOL and Globo.com, which are two portals ranked among the highest in audience in the country, were analyzed. It was investigated which news prevailed during the analyzed period on the most popular news rankings: important or interesting news? The analyzed period, using the composite week technique, was from September 6, one month before the first round of elections, until November 3, one week after the second round. Were important news presented in an interesting way, with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and infotainment techniques in the titles? Did the topics chosen by the public as co-gatekeepers in the rankings of popular news matched the choices of the 88 headlines made by journalists in the same period? This is the starting point of the thesis to reflect on the tension of the agenda-setting in contemporary times and to rethink the roles historically played by journalists: gatekeeper, gatewatcher, and audience mobilizer. In the light of the contemporary challenges that journalism faces, it was possible to observe, through a series of interviews with portal editors and the material analyzed, that journalists seek to reposition themselves as a strategic curators or which I propose as a news concept: gatetrusters, in order to maintain relevance and reinforce the values of journalism and its expertise in a democratic society.
