[pt] A pesquisa de doutorado Artes, design e educação: os testemunhos de festejos populares como formas de resistência cultural se integra ao projeto MOTIRÔ – o festejo como testemunho, uma parceria do Laboratório de Design de Histórias (Dhis) do Departamento de Artes e Design da PUC-Rio com o Museu da Pessoa, sob a coordenação do Professor Nilton G. Gamba Junior. Considerando que conceitos teóricos nos auxiliam a perceber por diversos ângulos as coisas que estão no mundo, para conseguirmos decodificar a realidade precisamos nos instrumentalizar com novas ferramentas. Na presente pesquisa, a arte é uma das ferramentas de decodificação e, através dos conceitos de memória individual, memória coletiva, memória herdada e memória subterrânea, iremos dissertar sobre a produção artística contemporânea tendo por base a representação da resistência e da diversidade sociocultural. As tensões existentes entre as temáticas profano X religioso, opressores X oprimidos, passado X presente nos apontam os problemas socioculturais que os festejos enfrentam para resistir a questões como: intolerância religiosa, aceitação da diversidade social e a ausência de incentivo dos poderes públicos. Sendo assim, apontamos dois fatores como questionamentos que norteiam e justificam o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa: (1) a importância da área de artes e design em atuar para disseminar reflexões e denúncias acerca das tensões socioculturais existentes nos testemunhos da Rede MOTIRÔ; (2) o papel dos profissionais das áreas de artes e design propondo reflexões, análises e construções formais, denunciando a violação dos direitos humanos, do direito de livre expressão cultural e dos direitos à verdade e à memória dos integrantes das manifestações culturais que cederam seus depoimentos ao projeto MOTIRÔ – o festejo como testemunho.

[en] The doctoral research Arts, Design and Education: Testimonies of popular festivities as forms of cultural resistance is part of the project MOTIRÔ – the festivities as testimony, a partnership of the History Design Laboratory (Dhis) of the Department of Arts and Design by PUC-Rio with the Museum of the Person, under the coordination of Professor Nilton G. Gamba Junior. Considering that theoretical concepts help us to perceive things in the world from different angles, in order to be able to decode reality we need to equip ourselves with new tools. In this research, art is one of the decoding tools and, through the concepts of individual memory, collective memory, inherited memory and underground memory, we will discuss contemporary artistic production based on the representation resistance and sociocultural diversity. The existing tensions between the themes profane X religious, oppressors X oppressed, past X present point us to the sociocultural problems that the festivities face to resist issues such as: religious intolerance, acceptance of social diversity and the lack of incentive of public authorities. Therefore, we point out two factors as questions that guide and justify the development of this research: (1) the importance of the arts and design area in acting to disseminate reflections and complaints about the sociocultural tensions existing in the testimonies of REDE MOTIRÔ; (2) the role of professionals in the arts and design areas, proposing reflections, analyzes and formal constructions, denouncing the violation of human rights, the right to free cultural expression and the rights to truth and memory of members of cultural manifestations who ceded their testimonies to the project MOTIRÔ – the festivities as testimony.
