[pt] Os anos 1940 e 1950 foram marcados pelo surgimento crescente de associações femininas no Brasil e no mundo. Este trabalho tem por objetivo investigar como as comunistas brasileiras se articularam entre si e, especialmente, dentro de uma rede internacional de organizações de mulheres. Buscamos compreender, primeiro, como esse processo se deu no Brasil durante o imediato pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial por meio das Uniões Femininas, das associações femininas locais e da Federação de Mulheres do Brasil (FMB). A partir de então, investigou-se como esta última estabeleceu relações com a Federação Democrática Internacional de Mulheres (FDIM), conectando as brasileiras a uma rede internacional de mulheres. Em um segundo momento, analisamos uma das principais demandas femininas naquele período: a Luta pela Paz. Também observamos de que forma a sua atuação era constantemente vigiada e oprimida pela Polícia Política. Ademais, mapeamos algumas dessas mulheres, produzindo pequenas biografias ao longo da dissertação. Por fim, analisamos os congressos e reuniões de mulheres, especialmente aqueles organizados pela FDIM, onde estiveram presentes delegações brasileiras. Paralelamente, exploramos como a defesa da infância e a maternidade foram pautas centrais na luta das comunistas ao redor do globo. Para isso, compreendemos o ideal de mulher diretamente ligado ao papel do cuidado e as rupturas e continuidade estabelecidas pelas militantes nos seus discursos e práticas daquele período.

[en] The 1940s and 1950s were marked by the growing emergence of women s associationsin Brazil and around the world. This work aims to investigate how Braziliancommunists were organised among themselves and, especially, within an internationalnetwork of women s organisations. We first sought to understand how this processunfolded in Brazil during the immediate post-World War II period through the Women s Unions, local women s associations, and the Brazilian Women s Federation (FMB).From then on, we investigated how the latter established relationships with the Women sInternational Democratic Federation (WIDF), connecting Brazilian women to aninternational women s network. Second, we analysed one of the main women s demandsof that period: the Struggle for Peace. We also observed how their actions wereconstantly monitored and oppressed by the Political Police. Finally, we sought to mapsome of these women s trajectories, producing short biographies throughout the text.Likewise, we analysed women s congresses and meetings, especially those organised bythe WIDF, where Brazilian delegations were present. At the same time, we exploredhow motherhood and the defense of childhood were central themes in the struggle ofcommunist women around the world. In order to do so, we analysed the ideal ofwomanhood directly linked to the role of caretaking and the ruptures and continuitiesestablished by these activists in their discourses and practices.
