[pt] Este trabalho investigou a gestão do risco cambial em empresa brasileira de telecomunicações, analisando o gap entre as recomendações teóricas e as práticas adotadas. Através de pesquisa qualitativa com especialistas e gestores, identificou-se que a organização opera sem política formalizada de hedge, utilizando práticas informais e reativas. Apesar da disponibilidade de instrumentos sofisticados, barreiras culturais e organizacionais limitam a implementação de estratégias estruturadas. O estudo evidencia potencial de evolução através da formalização de políticas, capacitação gerencial e transformação cultural.
Resumo
[en] This study investigated currency risk management in a Brazilian
telecommunications company, analyzing the gap between theoretical
recommendations and adopted practices. Through qualitative research with
experts and managers, it was identified that the organization operates without a
formalized hedge policy, utilizing informal and reactive practices. Despite the
availability of sophisticated instruments, cultural and organizational barriers limit
the implementation of structured strategies. The study demonstrates potential for
evolution through policy formalization, management training and cultural
transformation.
