[pt] O artigo objetiva demonstrar como se expressa a inadequação habitacional na
Comunidade do Igarapé do Piriquitaquara, localizada na Ilha do Combu em Belém-
-Pará (Amazônia paraense). A pesquisa, de caráter quanti-qualitativo, foi orientada
pelo método do materialismo histórico e dialético e utilizou como procedimentos
metodológicos as pesquisas bibliográfica, documental e de campo. Os resultados
indicaram que as residências apresentaram inadequações de infraestrutura urbana,
carências edilícias e fundiárias, as quais levam os moradores a recorrerem a improvisações para enfrentar os desafios habitacionais, demonstrando a necessidade
de políticas públicas voltadas às particularidades do modo de morar ribeirinho nas
áreas insulares da região amazônica.
Resumo
[en] The article aims to demonstrate how housing inadequacy is expressed in the Community of Igarapé do Piriquitaquara, located on the island of Combu in Belém-Pará
(Amazonia of Pará). The research, of a quantitative and qualitative nature, was guided by the method of historical and dialectical materialism and used bibliographic,
documentary and field research as methodological procedures. The results indicated
that the residences presented inadequacies in urban infrastructure, building and land
shortages, which lead residents to resort to improvisations to face housing challenges, demonstrating the need for public policies aimed at the particularities of riverside
living in island areas of the Amazon region.
