[pt] O artigo analisa criticamente o Símbolo Niceno à luz das disputas históricas e teológicas entre as escolas de Alexandria e Antioquia, destacando as implicações doutrinais e hermenêuticas desse credo na tradição cristã. O estudo argumenta que, embora o Symbolum Nicaenum seja um marco incontestável da fé cristã, ele é também fruto de tensões específicas da época, com tendência antialexandrina que gerou efeitos problemáticos na história da teologia. A análise passa por um exame da cristologia pré-conciliar, a recepção filosófica (em especial o neoplatonismo), a controvérsia com o arianismo, os desdobramentos medievais e modernos dessas doutrinas, e suas repercussões no diálogo inter-religioso e no pensamento contemporâneo. Finalmente, o artigo defende que o verdadeiro valor do Símbolo está em sua função normativa, mesmo reconhecendo seus limites históricos e terminológicos.

[en] The article critically analyzes the Nicene Creed in light of the historical and theological disputes between the schools of Alexandria and Antioch, highlighting the doctrinal and hermeneutical implications of this creed in Christian tradition. The study argues that, although the Symbolum Nicaenum is an indisputable milestone of the Christian faith, it is also the result of specific tensions of the time, with an antiAlexandrian tendency that had problematic effects on the history of theology. The analysis examines pre-conciliar Christology, philosophical reception (especially Neoplatonism), the controversy with Arianism, the medieval and modern developments of these doctrines, and their repercussions on interreligious dialogue and contemporary thought. Finally, the article argues that the true value of the Symbol lies in its normative function, even while recognizing its historical and terminological limitations.

[de] Der Artikel analysiert kritisch das Nicanische Glaubensbekenntnis im Lichte der historischen und theologischen Streitigkeiten zwischen den Schulen von Alexandria und Antiochia und hebt die dogmatischen und hermeneutischen Implikationen dieses Glaubensbekenntnisses in der christlichen Tradition hervor. Die Studie argumentiert, dass das Symbolum Nicaenum zwar ein unbestreitbarer Meilenstein des christlichen Glaubens ist, aber auch das Ergebnis spezifischer Spannungen der damaligen Zeit mit einer anti-alexandrinischen Tendenz ist, die problematische Auswirkungen auf die Geschichte der Theologie hatte. Die Analyse umfasst eine Untersuchung der vorkonziliaren Christologie, der philosophischen Rezeption (insbesondere des Neoplatonismus), der Kontroverse mit dem Arianismus, der mittelalterlichen und modernen Entwicklungen dieser Lehren und ihrer Auswirkungen auf den interreligiosen Dialog und das zeitgenossische Denken. SchlieBlich vertritt der Artikel die Auffassung, dass der wahre Wert des Symbols in seiner normativen Funktion liegt, auch wenn seine historischen und terminologischen Grenzen anerkannt werden.
