[pt] Este artigo analisa algumas características da educação popular na relação com o humanismo crítico que a sustenta.
Mostra sua flexibilidade teórica, iconoclastia e disposição para o diálogo, tão importantes no contexto atual de crise
democrática e ascensão da extrema direita. O texto também discute as bases filosóficas da educação popular, de
natureza realista e complexa, analisa a importância da ciência para o enfrentamento no atual contexto de luta
democrática e define a ciência como atividade humana vazia de conteúdo.
Resumo
[en] This article analyzes some characteristics of popular education in relation to the critical humanism that underpins
it. It shows its theoretical flexibility, iconoclasm and willingness to dialogue, which are so important in the current
context of democratic crisis and the rise of the extreme right. The text also discusses the philosophical bases of
popular education, which are realistic and complex in nature. It also analyzes the importance of science in
confronting the current context of democratic struggle, and defines science as a human activity devoid of content.
