[pt] O presente artigo aborda, a partir de algumas passagens referentes, principalmente, à educação das mulheres e ao seu treinamento militar, a questão da igualdade entre os gêneros masculino e feminino. Nas Leis, Platão é extremamente ambíguo com relação a esse tema. No entanto, apesar dessa dubiedade, a hipótese a ser defendida no artigo é a de que, no diálogo em questão, é possível argumentar a favor de uma quase equidade entre os gêneros. Nesse sentido, o artigo analisará a questão da equidade de essências, centrando-se nas passagens sobre a educação de ambos os gêneros. Em seguida, discutir-se-á a igualdade de oportunidades, a partir das passagens, bastante lacunosas, sobre as eleições e acerca dos requisitos necessários para a elegibilidade dos cargos na cidade. Por fim, pretende-se, ainda que brevemente, mencionar algumas restrições à plena participação das mulheres na comunidade. Essas passagens têm por fim corroborar a hipótese defendida, a saber, a de que as mulheres gozam de uma quase igualdade tanto de natureza quanto de oportunidades nas Leis.

[en] This article addresses, from some passages referring mainly to the education of women and their military training, the issue of equality between male and female genders. In the Laws, Plato is extremely ambiguous with regard to this subject. However, despite this doubtfulness, the hypothesis to be defended in the article is that, in the dialogue in question, it is possible to argue in favor of a near-equality between the genders. In this sense, the article will analyze the issue of equity of essences, focusing on passages about the education of both genders. Then, we will discuss the equal opportunities, from the passages, very lacunous, about the elections and about the requirements necessary for the eligibility of positions in the city. Finally, it is intended, albeit briefly, to mention some restrictions on the full participation of women in the community. These passages aim to corroborate the hypothesis defended, namely that women enjoy a near equality of both nature and opportunity in the Laws.
