[pt] Joseph Ratzinger demonstra em seus textos a importância da fé mariana da Igreja visando a permanência daquilo que é julgado por ele imperecível. O problema que move esta pesquisa é a necessidade de se compreender o significado e o alcance dessa afirmação e o objetivo é analisar as suas obras, especificamente no campo da mariologia, para entender a afirmação e apontar a contribuição das suas reflexões. A hipótese formulada defende a possibilidade de determinar esse elemento mariano a partir da função unitiva da Virgem Maria. Quanto à metodologia, usou-se uma abordagem qualitativa, tratando os elementos teóricos da questão a partir dos procedimentos próprios da pesquisa bibliográfica. Conclui se que não é possível compreender o mistério de Jesus Cristo sem se referir à sua Mãe e, portanto, há uma perspectiva integradora, essencialmente unitiva e de comunhão da Virgem em relação aos mistérios da fé. A pesquisa está dividida em sete momentos, traz: uma introdução; um percurso histórico da mariologia antes e após o Concílio Vaticano II; um perfil biográfico, devocional e teológico, para situar Ratzinger no contexto mariológico do século XX; uma análise das obras marianas; uma tentativa de sistematização da mariologia ratzingeriana e conclui indicando o que pode ser entendido como essencial e permanente da fé mariana da igreja.

[en] Joseph Ratzinger demonstrates in his texts the importance of the marian faith of the Church, aiming at the permanence of what he deems imperishable. The problem driving this research in the need to understand meaning and scope of this assertion, with the objective being to analyze his works, specifically in the field of mariology, to grasp the assertion and highlight the contribution of his reflections.The formulated hypothesis defends the possibility of determining this Marian element based on the unitive function of the Virgin Mary. As for the methodology, a qualitative approach was used, treating the theoretical elements of the issue through the specific procedures of bibliographic research. It is concluded that it is not possible to understand the mystery of Jesus Christ without referring to his mother, and thus, there is an integrative, essentially unifyng, and communitarian perspective of the Virgin in relation to the mysteries of faith. The research is divided into seven moments, wich include: an introduction; a historical journey of mariology before and after the Second Vatican Council; a biographical, devotional, and theological profile, to place Ratzinger in the mariological context of the 20t century; an analysis of Marian works; an attempt to systematize Ratzingerian Mariology and concludes indicating what can be understood as essential and permanent of the Church s Marian faith.
