[pt] Em Ne 7,72b–8,12 encontra-se uma das mais belas cenas do processo de restauração do povo no período pós-exílico: Esdras lê a Torá, o livro da Lei, diante do povo reunido na praça em frente à Porta das Águas. Esta ocasião é tão significativa para o povo que é vista como o clímax do processo de restauração. Diante disso, o propósito desse estudo é analisar o papel da Palavra de Deus dentro do processo de restauração do povo de Israel e como ela vai se tornando fundamental para a renovação da aliança do povo com Deus. Para tal, inicialmente são abordados alguns aspectos que contribuíram para o retorno do povo à sua terra após o Exílio da Babilônia: a forte influência persa, através de seus editos e cartas, que abrem esse processo, além das figuras marcantes de Esdras e Neemias, que, através de suas missões, guiam o povo, fortalecendo-o e buscando estabelecer uma identidade como povo da aliança. Após,serão apresentadas questões relevantes para um entendimento maior da perícope como a cronologia das missões de Esdras e Neemias, a posição do texto de Ne 8–10 dentro da obra de Esdras-Neemias e o que se entende por livro da lei. Na análise da perícope Ne 7,72b–8,12 será aplicado o método histórico-crítico, percorrendo todas as suas etapas, culminando no comentário exegético que revelará a influência dessa Palavra de Deus, componente central na vida do povo, na restauração de Israel e na renovação da aliança.

[en] Nehemiah 7:72b–8:12 presents one of the most profound moments in the process of the people s restoration during the post-exilic period: Ezra publicly reads the Torah, the Book of the Law, before the assembly gathered in the square before the Water Gate. This event is so significant that it marks the climax of the restoration process. Given this, the purpose of this study is to analyze the role of the Word of God in the restoration of Israel and how it becomes fundamental to the renewal of the people s covenant with God. To achieve this, the study first examines key factors that facilitated the people s return to their homeland after the Babylonian Exile, including the strong Persian influence, manifested through royal edicts and letters, that initiated this process, as well as the pivotal leadership of Ezra and Nehemiah, who guided the people, strengthened them, and worked to reestablish their identity as the covenant community. The study then explores essential aspects for a deeper understanding of the pericope, such as the chronology of Ezra and Nehemiah s missions, the placement of Nehemiah 8–10 within the Ezra-Nehemiah narrative, and the meaning of the Book of the Law. The historical-critical method will be applied to the analysis of Nehemiah 7:72b–8:12, following its stages and culminating in an exegetical commentary that highlights the transformative influence of the Word of God, a central element in the life of the people, on Israel’s restoration and the renewal of the covenant.
