[pt] O trabalho investiga as dinâmicas comunicativas relacionadas às respostas a agradecimentos no contexto do Português Brasileiro (PB), com foco na sua importância para o ensino de Português como Língua Estrangeira (PLE). Destaca-se a relevância desse aspecto para a gestão das interações sociais e a construção de relacionamentos interpessoais positivos, ressaltando a subestimação desse tema na maioria dos materiais didáticos existentes atualmente. Os dados analisados foram extraídos do Flow Podcast, um programa de grande audiência no Brasil, revelando-se uma fonte representativa da cultura digital contemporânea e das práticas linguísticas atuais. A análise baseia-se em importantes teorias linguísticas e pragmáticas, incluindo a Teoria dos Atos de Fala de J.L. Austin e John Searle (1962), a Teoria da Polidez de Brown & Levinson e a Gramática Discursiva-Funcional de Hengeveld, Mackenzie (2012). Com base nesse referencial, o estudo delineia hipóteses sobre variações nas respostas a agradecimentos, considerando o contexto comunicativo, a natureza dos vínculos interpessoais e a adequação sociocultural, em aspectos como idade, profissão, proveniência e gênero do falante. Por fim, este ensaio contribui para o entendimento das dinâmicas comunicativas no contexto do PB e oferece percepções valiosas para o ensino de PLE em todo o mundo.

[en] This study investigates the communicative dynamics related to responses to expressions of gratitude in the context of Brazilian Portuguese (BP), with a particular focus on their relevance to the teaching of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PFL). It highlights the importance of this aspect for managing social interactions and building positive interpersonal relationships, while emphasizing the underestimation of this topic in most of the teaching materials currently available. The analyzed data were drawn from Flow Podcast, a program with a wide audience in Brazil, which proved to be a representative source of contemporary digital culture and current linguistic practices. The analysis is grounded in major linguistic and pragmatic theories, including J.L. Austin and John Searle’s Speech Act Theory (1962), Brown and Levinson s Politeness Theory, and Hengeveld and Mackenzie s Functional Discourse Grammar (2012). Based on this theoretical framework, the study outlines hypotheses concerning variations in responses to gratitude, considering the communicative context, the nature of interpersonal bonds, and sociocultural appropriateness in terms of factors such as age, profession, origin, and gender of the speaker. Ultimately, this essay contributes to the understanding of communicative dynamics in the BP context and provides valuable insights for the teaching of PFL worldwide.
