[pt] O progresso econômico entra em colisão com a proteção dos recursos naturais e a responsabilidade social, sobretudo por causa da urgência em extrair recursos em regiões ecologicamente vulneráveis, principalmente em países de baixa e média renda, gerando discussões importantes sobre desenvolvimento econômico e conservação do meio ambiente de maneira sustentável. Uma das localidades mais evidentes é a região da Amazônia, caracterizada pela floresta Amazônica, localizada na América do Sul, que tem destaque nos debates e fóruns permanentes sobre meio ambiente ao redor do mundo, principalmente quando o foco está na preservação e conservação de sua biodiversidade. Apesar do desenvolvimento sustentável ser amplamente avaliado em diferentes dimensões em setores, ainda há muito a ser explorado acerca dos indicadores de sustentabilidade no contexto da Amazônia Legal. Neste contexto, este trabalho teve como objetivo validar indicadores de desenvolvimento sustentável com base na percepção de especialistas e analisar os fatores que influenciam o desenvolvimento sustentável na região. Para isso, foi elaborado um conjunto de indicadores, compilados a partir de uma revisão da literatura, e aplicado um survey junto a profissionais da indústria local. A validação da percepção dos especialistas foi realizada por meio do método de Lawshe. Além disso, os indicadores selecionados foram analisados em nível municipal, a fim de identificar características específicas dos municípios da Amazônia Legal e compará-los com os demais municípios do país, utilizando o Wilcoxon rank sum test e Conditional Inference Trees. Dos 25 indicadores propostos, 8 foram validados como essenciais por 22 especialistas - sendo 3 da dimensão ambiental, 3 da dimensão econômica e 2 da dimensão social - indicando que os aspectos sociais tendem a receber menor prioridade em relação aos ambientais e econômicos. Os municípios da Amazônia Legal apresentaram níveis mais baixos de abastecimento de água pela rede geral, esgotamento sanitário, coleta de lixo, IDH e PIB quando comparados aos demais municípios do país. Os resultados obtidos podem contribuir para fortalecer o debate sobre a relevância de mensurar o desenvolvimento sustentável sob diferentes perspectivas na região.

[en] Economic progress comes into play with issues related to the protection of natural resources and social responsibility, especially due to the urgency of extracting resources in ecologically vulnerable regions, especially in low- and middle-income countries, generating important discussions about economic development and environmental conservation in a sustainable manner. One of the most obvious locations is the Amazon region, specifically the Amazon rainforest, located in South America, which has been highlighted in permanent debates and forums on the environment around the world, especially when the focus is on the preservation and conservation of its biodiversity. Although sustainable development is widely assessed in different dimensions of the sectors, there is still much to be explored regarding sustainability indicators in the context of the Legal Amazon. In this context, this work aimed to validate sustainable development indicators based on the perception of experts and to analyze the factors that influence sustainable development in the region. To this end, a set of indicators was developed, compiled from a literature review, and a survey was conducted with professionals from the local industry. The validation of the experts perceptions was performed using the Lawshe method. In addition, the selected indicators were analyzed at the municipal level in order to identify specific characteristics of the municipalities in the Legal Amazon and compare them with the other municipalities in the country, using the Wilcoxon rank sum test and Conditional Inference Trees. Of the 25 proposed indicators, 8 were validated as essential by 22 experts - 3 from the environmental dimension, 3 from the economic dimension and 2 from the social dimension - indicating that social aspects tend to receive less priority in relation to environmental and economic aspects. The municipalities in the Legal Amazon presented lower levels of water supply through the general network, sewage, garbage collection, HDI and GDP when compared to the other municipalities in the country. The results obtained can contribute to strengthening the debate on the relevance of measuring sustainable development from different perspectives in the region.
