[pt] A partir do conceito de Cidade Genérica, analisou-se as transformações ocorridas nas cidades com frentes de água (mar e rio), nas últimas décadas, demonstrando os efeitos ocasionados pela globalização que interferiram no desenho do tecido urbano, de modo a impactar na paisagem construída, evidenciando o processo de similaridade arquitetônica em grandes centros urbanos. Esta fragmentação de conceitos arquitetônicos e sua posterior pasteurização tem sido recorrente na implantação de grandes obras de requalificação, com o objetivo de iconizar a paisagem para alavancar a atividade turística. Essa competição por projeção em escala internacional, fomentada pela lógica do desenvolvimento capitalista, força a reprodução de intervenções e modelos considerados de sucesso, como o observado na Zona Portuária da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, mais precisamente na área de interferência do projeto de revitalização iniciado em 2009. Essa dissertação apresenta, por meio do cruzamento de informações obtidas junto a artigos e o aprofundamento do entendimento por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas com arquitetos que possuem conhecimento sobre a matéria, quais elementos urbanísticos podem atuar como agentes mitigadores das características genéricas em centros urbanos contemporâneos.

[en] The contemporary city is in constant transformation, being exposed to several modifications and losing her own characteristics of evolution. This process is directly associated with urban evolution, once in a world of increasing and globalized flow, in which time seems to seems to be accelerated, debating and reflecting on the different decompositions of urban space currently proves to be essential. Based on the concept established by Rem Koolhaas (2014), first published in 1994, called Generic City, the transformations that have taken place in cities were analyzed, especially in recent decades, demonstrating the effects caused by globalization that has been interfering in the design of the urban tissue, in order to impact the built landscape, manifesting itself in cities through comprehensive spaces, very similar and in a way representative of the stereotyped life of each urban agglomeration. It is understood that in this manifestation of the city, the buildings that best represent this essence are hotels and airports, since they have become comprehensive spaces, very similar and in a way representative of the stereotyped life of each urban agglomeration. Koolhaas (2014), by exemplifying the manifestations of generic cities around the world, analyzes the urbanization of Southeast Asia, more precisely the city of Singapore, which in his words represents the true contemporary condition of the generic term, since its history was completely erased and its territory has become completely artificial. These locations and their buildings are caused by the rapid development of urbanization that adapts and remodels the city according to the needs of humanity, which change from time to time. Just like Modernist Architecture, which marked cities in the first decades of the 20th century, with its rejection of traditional architectural styles, the contemporary architect, allied to other interests, often treats spaces with no fixed parameters, erasing their memory and the ways of interacting with the city.
