[pt] No ano de 1980, em pleno processo de Redemocratização, Marli Soares Pereira, mulher negra, jovem, moradora da Baixada Fluminense travou uma luta de intensa repercussão na época por justiça em relação ao seu irmão, Paulo, que foi assassinado por um esquadrão da morte em outubro de 1979. Marli acusou policiais pelo crime e passou a lutar para que os assassinos fossem condenados, recebendo apoio de diversas organizações que então protagonizavam a luta pelo fim da Ditadura. Esse artigo possui dois objetivos: o primeiro deles é resgatar a história de Marli e de sua luta por justiça frente ao assassinato do irmão por agentes do Estado em plena Ditadura, sendo Paulo uma vítima jovem, negra, pobre e periférica. O segundo objetivo é discutir de que forma a enorme repercussão que o caso e a pessoa de Marli tiveram em pleno processo de Redemocratização no Brasil deu lugar a um apagamento posterior, no que tratamos as memórias da Ditadura e os debates posteriores sobre quem foram as suas vítimas.

[en] In 1980, during the brazilian redemocratization process, Marli Soares Pereira, a youngblack woman living in Baixada Fluminense, fought a highly publicized battle for justicefor her brother Paulo, who was murdered by a death squad in October 1979. Marliaccused the police of the crime and began to fight for the murderers to be convicted,receiving support from several organizations that were then leading the fight to endthe dictatorship. This article has two objectives: the first is to recount Marli s storyand her fight for justice in the face of her brother s murder by state agents duringthe dictatorship, with Paulo being a young, black, poor, and peripheral victim. Thesecond objective is to discuss how the enormous repercussion that Marli s case andperson had during the Redemocratization process in Brazil gave way to a subsequenterasure, in which we address the memories of the dictatorship and the subsequent debates about who its victims were.
