[pt] A desinformação tem se consolidado como um fenômeno central na política contemporânea, impactando diretamente a representação política e o jogo democrático. O presente estudo investiga a relação entre a circulação de informações falsas com os agentes do legislativo brasileiro. Para tanto, este trabalho discute as acepções de desinformação e fake news; explora a produção acadêmica nacional e internacional sobre o tema e investiga a relação de atores do Congresso Nacional com a circulação de desinformação a partir de agências de checagem considerando o período de 2018 a 2024, buscando compreender a relação entre atacados e reprodutores. Os resultados indicam que a circulação de informações falsas ultrapassa períodos eleitorais e se manifesta como um mecanismo estratégico durante os mandatos, afetando a qualidade do vínculo entre representantes e representados. Além disso, identifica atores de diferentes espectros políticos como alvo, com maior ênfase para a centro-esquerda, bem como as múltiplas camadas de construção da desinformação combinando textos e imagens, buscando apontar para o entendimento dos desafios informacionais que ameaçam a legitimidade da democracia representativa.

[en] Disinformation has become a central phenomenon in contemporary politics, directly impacting political representation and the democratic process. This study investigates the relationship between the circulation of false information and agents of the Brazilian legislature. To do so, the paper discusses the definitions of disinformation and fake news; explores national and international academic production on the topic; and examines the involvement of actors in the National Congress with the circulation of disinformation based on fact-checking agencies, focusing on the period from 2018 to 2024, aiming to understand the relationship between those targeted and the disseminators. The results indicate that the circulation of false information goes beyond electoral periods and manifests as a strategic mechanism during mandates, affecting the quality of the bond between representatives and constituents. Additionally, it identifies actors from different political spectra as targets, with greater emphasis on the center-left, as well as multiple layers of disinformation construction combining texts and images, pointing toward an understanding of the informational challenges that threaten the legitimacy of representative democracy.
