[pt] Tratar de uma temática tão delicada como as doenças psicológicas, para muitos, doenças da alma, não é uma tarefa fácil, principalmente quando se abordam as causas do desespero humano que pode levar o ser humano ao suicídio, desespero existencial que toca profundamente também os fiéis de Jesus de Nazaré. A tarefa se torna certamente mais delicada quando os afetados tragicamente pelo suicídio são sujeitos religiosos, homens e mulheres de fé. Assim ocorreu com Frei Tito de Alencar Lima, cearense que conhecia bem a sofrida existência dos pobres brasileiros e que via no Reino de Deus e em sua Igreja Católica Apostólica Romana, que tanto amava a resposta para a transformação da sociedade brasileira. Via na Teologia da Libertação a chave para transformação da sociedade brasileira, para que os milhões de pobres no Brasil pudessem ter ao menos um pequeno gosto da doçura daquilo que Jesus de Nazaré trouxe ao mundo, justiça em toda sua práxis de vida. Mas no meio do caminho dos sonhos de Tito havia a ditadura e seus representantes na OBAN (Operação bandeirantes), a sucursal do inferno, para onde Tito foi levado arbitrariamente e torturado por horas e em dias seguidos. Lá provou a hóstia consagrada no seu próprio sangue, na covardia, na violência, nas sessões de tortura oferecidas pelas esquipes dos capitães do Exército: Maurício, Homero e Albernaz. A existência de Tito neste mundo foi moída na carne e na mente por seus torturadores. Esta pesquisa rememora como muitas outras já o fizeram, a vida e a morte trágica de Tito de Alencar Lima em tempos de repressão. Tito foi levado ao suicídio por seus torturadores, que posteriormente, assim como fantasmas atormentavam continuamente sua existência após ser liberto para o exílio no exterior ao longo dos primeiros anos da década de 1970, até sua morte em 10 de agosto de 1974. Nos calabouços da OBAN (Operação Bandeirantes), comandada pelo Exército brasileiro, ao longo da tortura nenhuma palavra pronunciou aos seus algozes, agiu como Jesus prestes a ser torturado, se fazendo como ovelha muda. Sua memória resiste, vive na história, para que nunca mais se repitam os anos de chumbo no Brasil.

[en] Dealing with a subject as delicate as psychological illnesses, which many consider diseases of the soul, is not an easy task, especially when dealing with the causes of human despair that can lead people to commit suicide, an existential despair that also deeply touches the faithful of Jesus of Nazareth. The task certainly becomes more delicate when those tragically affected by suicide are religious individuals, men and women of faith. This was the case with Friar Tito de Alencar Lima, a man from Ceará who knew well the suffering of the Brazilian poor and who saw in the Kingdom of God and in his beloved Roman Catholic Church the answer to transforming Brazilian society. He saw in Liberation Theology the key to transforming Brazilian society, so that the millions of poor in Brazil could have at least a small taste of the sweetness of what Jesus of Nazareth brought to the world: justice in all his life practices. But standing in the way of Tito s dreams was the dictatorship and its representatives in OBAN (Operation Bandeirantes), the branch of hell, where Tito was arbitrarily taken and tortured for hours and days on end. There he tasted the host consecrated in his own blood, in cowardice, in violence, in torture sessions offered by the teams of Army captains: Maurício, Homero and Albernaz. Tito s existence in this world was ground down in his flesh and mind by his torturers. This research recalls, as many others have done, the life and tragic death of Tito de Alencar Lima in times of repression. Tito was driven to suicide by his torturers, who, like ghosts, continually tormented his existence after he was released into exile abroad throughout the early 1970s, until his death on August 10, 1974. In the dungeons of OBAN (Operação Bandeirantes), commanded by the Brazilian Army, throughout the torture he did not say a word to his tormentors, he acted like Jesus about to be tortured, acting like a mute sheep. His memory endures, lives on in history, so that the years of lead in Brazil will never be repeated.
