[pt] O objetivo desta tese é analisar criticamente o desenvolvimento geográfico desigual enquanto movimento da sociedade capitalista em (re)espaciliazação, apontando para outras possibilidades de reprodução sociometabólica, em espacialidades apoiadas na diferença. Reconhecendo no desenvolvimento geográfico desigual uma possibilidade de fornecer novos caminhos ao arcabouço teórico-conceitual da ciência geográfica, defendemos que a referida construção exige uma atualização/ressignificação das suas formulações, o que passa pela abertura a contribuições teóricas e práticas para além do âmbito eurocêntrico e economicista. Desse modo, entendemos que o movimento, a subversão e a transitoriedade são elementos fundamentais aos referenciais marxistas diante das atuais contradições próprias da produção capitalista do espaço, marcada pela reconfiguração da acumulação primitiva e por novas facetas do movimento de colonização. A necessidade de ressignificação do escopo analítico da geografia, que passa pelo entendimento do movimento inerente à relação sujeito-objeto, torna-se indispensável para refletir sobre temáticas e perspectivas outrora deixadas nas margens. Recuperar e elaborar o conceito de desenvolvimento desigual parece nos central à análise das transformações no espaço no momento atual, uma vez que a produção de escalas espaciais e a produção da diferença geográfica tornam-se aspectos fundamentais para repensar os sujeitos e incorporar novas significações aos contornos específicos que adquire o espaço urbano na atualidade. Tal reformulação (impreterivelmente imbuída de pensamento e ação) pode oferecer caminhos para a projeção desenvolvimentos geográficos alternativos, apoiados na sinfonia das diferenças e nas espaço-temporalidades múltiplas do Outro urbano.

[en] The aim of this thesis is to critically analyze uneven geographical development as a movement of capitalist society that involves (re)spatialization, pointing toward alternative possibilities of sociometabolic reproduction in spatialities grounded in difference. Recognizing in uneven geographical development a potential to provide new pathways for the theoretical-conceptual framework of geographical science, we argue that this construction necessitates an update/resignification of its formulations, requiring openness to theoretical and practical contributions beyond Eurocentric and economistic perspectives. Thus, we understand that movement, subversion, and transitoriness are fundamental elements in Marxist frameworks when confronted with the current contradictions inherent to the capitalist production of space, characterized by the reconfiguration of primitive accumulation and new facets of the colonization movement. The need to redefine the analytical scope of geography, which entails understanding the inherent movement in the subject-object relationship, becomes indispensable for reflecting on themes and perspectives previously relegated to the margins. Recovering and elaborating the concept of uneven development seems central to the analysis of spatial transformations in the current moment, as the production of spatial scales and the production of geographical difference become crucial aspects for rethinking subjects and incorporating new meanings to the specific contours that urban space acquires today. Such a reformulation (inextricably tied to thought and action) may offer pathways for projecting alternative geographical developments, grounded in the symphony of differences and the multiple space-temporalities of the urban Other.
