[pt] O artigo busca evidenciar o estatuto e os modos da violência a partir do prefácio de Sartre a Os Condenados da Terra. Primeiramente, contextualizamos, nos termos de Sartre, a idade de ouro da colonização e como uma nova geração de colonizados pôs fim a essa era. Em seguida, discutimos como o discurso de Fanon, ao diagnosticar a decadência europeia, traz um novo tom de ignorância e desprezo a seus colonizadores. Dessa forma, a obra de Fanon, segundo Sartre, mostra-se devastadora ao se dirigir tão somente aos seus irmãos colonizados, em total indiferença aos seus colonos. Por que, então, diante dessa indiferença, ler Fanon? Por dois motivos, dirá Sartre: primeiro, para os europeus se reconhecerem; segundo, e o mais importante para nós, porque Fanon se atentará à parteira da história: a violência. Enfim, analisamos a figura da violência no prefácio de Sartre, assim como a dialética que perpassa essa noção. Iniciando com o que chamamos de violência colonial, passando pela violência do oprimido, culminando na violência revolucionária. Veremos como esse primeiro momento da violência produz uma espécie de sub-humanidade ao criar uma elite colonial e inserir diversas séries de racismos dentro desse próprio povo, estratificando-o. Em seguida, notaremos que o segundo momento da violência nada mais é do que a violência do opressor, interiorizada pelo oprimido. E, por fim, no terceiro momento, a violência do oprimido volta-se contra seu opressor. Veremos também um quarto momento da violência: aquela que produzirá uma violenta descolonização do colono interior no leitor, sobretudo o leitor burguês.

[en] This paper seeks to highlight the status and modes of violence in Sartre s preface to The Wretched of the Earth.First, we contextualize, in Sartres terms, the golden age of colonization and how a new generation of colonized people brought that era to an end. Next, we discuss how Fanons discourse, by diagnosing European decadence, brings a new tone of ignorance and contempt to its colonizers. Thus, Fanons work, according to Sartre, proves to be devastating as it addresses only his colonized brothers, with total indifference to their colonizers. So why, in light of this indifference, read Fanon? For two reasons, Sartre will say: first, for Europeans to recognize themselves; second, and most importantly for us, because Fanon will focus on the midwife of history: violence. Finally, we analyze the figure of violence in Sartre s preface, as well as the dialectic that permeates this notion. Starting with what we call colonial violence, passing through the violence of the oppressed, culminating in revolutionary violence. We will see how this first moment of violence produces a kind of sub-humanity by creating a colonial elite and inserting various forms of racism within that society, stratifying it. Next, we will note that the second moment of violence is nothing more than the violence of the oppressor, internalized by the oppressed. And finally, in the third moment, the violence of the oppressed turns against their oppressor. We will also see a fourth moment of violence: that which will produce a violent decolonization of the internal colonizer in the reader, especially the bourgeois reader.
