[pt] A tese investigou a interação entre a produção de flores de corte e o turismo rural no Rio de Janeiro, um estado com vasto potencial não apenas em beleza floral, mas também em experiências turísticas rurais. Ao considerar a pluriatividade como um catalisador nas áreas periurbanas próximas à capital, o estudo identificou áreas estratégicas com base em dados do Ibraflor e da EMATER-Rio, propondo uma roteirização alinhada com as políticas do Ministério do Turismo. O objetivo principal foi analisar como o turismo em propriedades de flores pode ser uma estratégia de desenvolvimento rural, resultando na elaboração de roteiros turísticos para promover o meio rural na região serrana e centro sul do estado, com foco em municípios como Nova Friburgo, Petrópolis e Miguel Pereira. A pesquisa destacou a necessidade de orientações claras para uma implementação eficaz do turismo rural nessas áreas, identificando uma lacuna na literatura sobre a integração entre produção agrícola florística e turismo nas regiões periurbanas do Rio de Janeiro. Os resultados revelaram áreas com potencial turístico e infraestrutura adequada, embora apenas uma parte dos produtores, demonstrou interesse nos roteiros propostos. Dos 8 produtores entrevistados, apenas 6 expressaram interesse na implementação do roteiro turístico. A tese conclui com uma proposta de roteirização para orientar políticas municipais e fortalecer o turismo rural, salientando a importância da colaboração entre entidades governamentais para o sucesso dessas iniciativas, que podem impulsionar o desenvolvimento econômico e preservar a identidade rural dessas regiões.

[en] The thesis investigated the interaction between cut flower production and rural tourism in Rio de Janeiro, a state with vast potential not only in floral beauty but also in rural tourism experiences. By considering pluriactivity as a catalyst in peri-urban areas near the capital, the study identified strategic areas based on data from Ibraflor and EMATER-Rio, proposing route alignment with Ministry of Tourism policies. The main objective was to analyze how tourism in flower properties can be a rural development strategy, resulting in the elaboration of tourist routes to promote rural areas in the mountainous and southern region of the state, focusing on municipalities such as Nova Friburgo, Petrópolis, and Miguel Pereira. The research highlighted the need for clear guidance for effective rural tourism implementation in these areas, identifying a gap in the literature on the integration between floristic agricultural production and tourism in the peri-urban regions of Rio de Janeiro. The results revealed areas with tourist potential and adequate infrastructure, although only a portion of the producers showed interest in the proposed routes. Out of the 8 producers interviewed, only 6 expressed interest in implementing the tourist route. The thesis concludes with a route proposal to guide municipal policies and strengthen rural tourism, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between government entities for the success of these initiatives, which can drive economic development and preserve the rural identity of these regions.
