[pt] O presente artigo apresenta como objetivo central examinar o romance Kikia matcho (2010), do escritor guineense Filinto de
Barros, trabalhando a hipótese de que os elementos da tradição cultural guineense possuem relação com o contexto político abordado na obra desse autor. A narrativa de Filinto de Barros aborda a desilusão dos ex-combatentes, que encabeçaram a luta pela independência, com a chegada do novo governo após o golpe de 1980, que acentuou as dificuldades econômicas e sociais sofridas pelo jovem estado-nação. Buscaremos demonstrar que os elementos da tradição, nomeados neste trabalho como o místico e o mágico, funcionam como elementos de resistência ao denunciar a estrutura que levou ao desalento.
Resumo
[en] The central aim of this article is to analyse the novel Kikia matcho
(2010) by Guinean writer Filinto de Barros, working on the hypothesis that elements of Guinean cultural tradition are related to the
political context addressed in the author s work. Filinto de Barros
narrative deals with the disillusionment of the ex-combatants who
led the fight for independence with the arrival of the new government after the 1980 coup, which accentuated the economic and
social difficulties suffered by the young nation-state. We will try to
demonstrate that the elements of tradition, named in this work as
the mystical and the magical, function as elements of resistance by
denouncing the structure that led to disillusionment.
