[pt] Essa dissertação trata de um estudo do bullying como violência escolar. Visto que a problematização do bullying chegou no Brasil a partir dos estudos sobre violência escolar da década de 90, junto com a popularização dos estudos de Dan Olweus, e a visibilidade na mídia quanto a massacres, homicídios e suicídios relacionados a violência escolar. Procuramos enfatizar aqui o papel dos direitos humanos da criança e do adolescente na educação, que levou uma nova compreensão da criança e do adolescente sobre os direitos dos jovens e mudanças de políticas públicas nos países sobre tal. Em consequência dos tratados ratificados em direitos humanos, os países membros se atentaram à ampliação do acesso à escola e à garantia de permanência do alunato. É nesse contexto de massificação escolar e democratização da escola que surgem questionamentos sobre violência escolar e talvez uma das violências escolares mais traiçoeiras seja o bullying. Se faz aqui a análise de relatórios internacionais como da ONU, UNESCO e UNICEF para se compreender a problematização do fenômeno, assim como um levantamento bibliográfico sobre o tema. Por outro lado, também se pretende sociologizar a conceitualização de bullying reconhecendo-a como parta de dinâmicas de grupo das quais fazem parte a disputa de poder, comportamento agressivo e estigmatizações. Aqui, identificamos a fronteira do tema com o campo da psicologia, valorizando a importância de conceitos como como estresse, ambiente adaptativo e ganhos em reputação, que fomentam o debate.

[en] This dissertation is a study of bullying as school violence. Since the problematization of bullying arrived in Brazil following studies on school violence in the 90s, along with the popularization of Dan Olweus; studies, and the visibility of media about massacres, homicides and suicides related to school violence. We have tried to emphasize here the role of the human rights of children and adolescents in education, which has led to a new understanding on the part of children and adolescents of the rights of young people and changes in public policy in the countries concerned. As a result of the ratified human rights treaties, member countries have paid attention to expanding access to school and ensuring that pupils stay in school. It is in this context of school massification and school democratization that questions arise about school violence, and perhaps one of the most treacherous forms of school violence is bullying. An analysis of international reports such as those by the UN, UNESCO and UNICEF will be carried out here in order to understand the problematization of the phenomenon, as well as a bibliographical survey on the subject. On the other hand, the aim is to sociologize the conceptualization of bullying, recognizing it as part of group dynamics which include power struggles, aggressive behaviour and stigmatization. Here, we identify the topic s frontier with the field of psychology, valuing the importance of concepts such as stress, adaptive environment and reputational gains, which foster debate.
