[pt] No Brasil, são profundos os desafios relacionados ao racismo e às desigualdades,
especialmente no ambiente educacional. As ações afirmativas nas universidades públicas, adotadas no início do século XXI, são fundamentais na inclusão e reparação dessas desigualdades. A Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (Uern), apesar do pioneirismo na implementação de ações afirmativas, ainda carece de estudos sobre suas políticas. Através de entrevistas semiestruturadas com estudantes, a pesquisa aborda, mediante uma abordagem qualitativa, como esses avaliam e percebem essa política, implementada no ano de 2020. Os resultados destacam a sua importância, bem como a necessidade de melhorias e manutenção.
Resumo
[en] In Brazil, the challenges faced related to racism and inequality are profound, especially in the educational environment. Affirmative action in public universities, adopted at the beginning of the 21st century, are fundamental for the inclusion and repair of
these inequalities. The State University of Rio Grande do Norte, despite its pioneering nature in implementation of affirmative actions, still lacks studies on its policies.
Through semi-structured interviews with students, the research addresses, using a
qualitative approach, how they evaluate and perceive this policy, implemented in
2020. The results highlight the importance of these policies, in addition to identifying
areas for improvement and maintenance.
