[pt] O objetivo do artigo é refletir teologicamente sobre a morte, partindo de sua fundamentação bíblica e de seu desenvolvimento sistemático. No âmbito bíblico, a morte tem uma dimensão natural e sobrenatural. A morte pertence ao mundo das criaturas e consiste também na ruptura na comunhão com Deus. No plano sistemático, a morte é vista na sua dimensão antropológica, cristológica e eclesiológica. No campo antropológico, a morte é uma dimensão constitutiva da vida humana. A morte goza de uma onipresença na vida. No âmbito cristológico, Deus encarnando-se se torna um mortal e experimenta a radicalidade da morte em Cristo. No aspecto eclesiológico, a morte não é um fato puramente individual, mas também social e eclesial. O cristão não morre sozinho, mas em comunhão com a humanidade e com a Igreja. A metodologia do artigo é bíblico-teológica que consiste na apresentação das bases bíblicas e das reflexões teológico-sistemáticas. A conclusão apresenta a relevância e a audiência antropológica e teológica que o tema da morte conquistou no século XX.

[en] This article aims to theologically reflect on death, from the aspect of its biblical grounding and systematic development. In the biblical context, death has both a natural and supernatural dimension. It belongs to the world of creatures, but it is also the break in communion with God. On a systematic level, death is seen in its anthropological, Christological, and ecclesiological dimensions. In the anthropological field, death is a constitutive part of human life. Death is omnipresent in life. In the Christological sphere, through incarnation, God becomes mortal and experiences the radical nature of death in Christ. In ecclesiological terms, death is not just an individual event, but a social and ecclesial one. The Christian does not die alone, but in communion with humanity and the Church. The biblical-theological methodology employed in the article consists in presenting the biblical bases and theological-systematic reflections. The conclusion discusses how the theme of death has gained both relevance and an anthropological and theological audience in the 20th century
