[pt] Aborda a situação de dependência econômica da América Latina e, em particular, do Brasil, valendo-se de revisão bibliográfica e análise de fontes primárias e secundárias. A Teoria Marxista da Dependência (TMD) foi a base teórica central eleita para a análise. Conclui-se que países de capitalismo periférico contribuem para que, nos países de capitalismo central, a acumulação de riquezas dependa mais do aumento da capacidade produtiva do trabalho do que simplesmente da exploração do trabalhador. Por consequência, fenômeno inverso é registrado nas economias dependentes, em que a massa trabalhadora deve se sujeitar a formas mais radicalizadas de exploração a fim de manter, em nível avançado, o lucro das respectivas burguesias nacionais.

[en] The article addresses the situation of economic dependence in Latin America and, in particular, Brazil, using a bibliographical review and analysis of primary and secondary sources. The Marxist Dependency Theory (TMD) was the central theoretical basis chosen for the analysis. It is concluded that countries with peripheral capitalism contribute to the fact that, in countries with central capitalism, the accumulation of wealth depends more on the increase in the productive capacity of work than simply on the exploitation of the worker. Consequently, the opposite phenomenon is registered in dependent economies, in which the working mass must be subject to more radicalized forms of exploitation in order to maintain, at an advanced level, the profits of the respective national bourgeoisie.
