[pt] O presente artigo tem o objetivo de apresentar algumas considerações sobre a Constituição Dogmática Lumen Gentium, considerada o documento central do Concílio Ecumênico Vaticano II, além de reafirmar a sua importância para a Igreja mesmo nos dias de hoje. Sendo assim, este texto faz, no primeiro ponto, uma breve reconstituição histórica da elaboração do texto nas sessões em que ele foi discutido, até chegar ao documento aprovado pelos bispos e promulgado pelo Papa Paulo VI, a 21 de novembro de 1964. O segundo ponto analisa a ordem dos capítulos do texto do documento, a sua novidade, as suas ideias-chave, a inserção do esquema sobre Maria e, por fim, a Nota Prévia. O terceiro ponto aborda alguns aspectos teológicos presente no documento, sem a pretensão de realizar uma abordagem exaustiva diante da riqueza do texto, entre os quais a renovação na continuidade, a perspectiva trinitária, o lugar e o papel do leigo na Igreja, para finalizar com uma pergunta frequente: Qual a eclesiologia que se encontra na Lumen Gentium? Esta Constituição Dogmática merece ser revisitada para, assim, receber o lugar que lhe é devido no pensamento eclesiológico atual.

[en] The aim of this article is to present some considerations on the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium, considered the central document of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, as well as reaffirming its importance for the Church even today. In the first section, the text briefly recounts the history of the drafting of the text in the sessions in which it was discussed, until it became the document approved by the bishops and promulgated by Pope Paul VI on November 21, 1964. The second section analyzes the order of the chapters in the text of the document, its novelty, the key ideas, the insertion of the schema on Mary and, finally, the Preliminary Note. The third section looks at some of the theological aspects of the document, without pretending to be exhaustive in view of the richness of the text, including renewal in continuity, the Trinitarian perspective, the place and role of the laity in the Church, and concludes with a frequently asked question: What ecclesiology is found in Lumen Gentium? This Dogmatic Constitution deserves to be revisited so that it can be given its rightful place in current ecclesiological thinking.
