[pt] Este artigo busca analisar o despertar chileno à luz da onda global de movimentos sociais e revoltas cidadãs que surgiram de 2010 em diante, em todas as regiões do mundo. Realizaram-se entrevistas, observações diretas e análises da revolta chilena e de uma série de movimentos sociais ocorridos nesse período. Com base nesses resultados, o artigo propõe destacar oito características compartilhadas por essas mobilizações internacionais que contribuem para uma análise do movimento chileno e de seus impactos, quais sejam: as escalas e os espaços da ação; a forma de organização reticular e “adhocrática”; as demandas formuladas em termos de dignidade, justiça social e democratização; as dimensões subjetivas desses movimentos; as dimensões expressivas e artísticas; os espaços de encontro e de experiência; as dimensões interseccionais; e a evolução da relação com a política institucional. Analisar o movimento chileno por meio das características compartilhadas com revoltas e movimentos da “onda global de movimentos dos anos 2010” convida a mudar o olhar sobre os impactos da explosão social. Além de seus impactos no curto prazo na política institucional, intenta-se considerar as marcas do movimento em distintos âmbitos da sociedade chilena, sem negar nem a importância das mudanças políticas, nem o peso dos atores conservadores.

[en] This article analyzes the Chilean Awakening in light of this global wave of social movements and citizen revolts that emerged since 2010 in all regions of the world. Based on interviews, direct observations and analysis during the Chilean outbreak and a series of international mobilizations throughout the decade, the author points to eight characteristics shared by these international mobilizations that contribute to an analysis of the Chilean movement and its impacts: the scales and spaces of action; the form of reticular and adhocratic organization; the demands formulated in terms of dignity, social justice and democratization; the subjective dimension of these movements; the expressive and artistic dimensions; the spaces of encounters and experience; the intersectional dimensions and the evolution of the relationship to institutional politics. The last section invites us to make the link between social movements, institutional politics and social change more complex. Without denying the importance of political processes, reducing social movements to their impact on institutional politics is an analytical bias that prevents us from understanding some fundamental dimensions of these actors and the most crucial part of the change they drive.
