[pt] O presente trabalho tem como objetivo identificar e evidenciar o papel do BNDES, como banco de desenvolvimento brasileiro, no enfrentamento da crise das mudanças climáticas. Para tal, foi feito um levantamento bibliográfico sobre o tema, focando nos conceitos de desenvolvimento sustentável, sustentabilidade corporativa e responsabilidade socioambiental, formando uma base teórica em torno do conceito geral de sustentabilidade. Após concluída a etapa bibliográfica, foi feito um estudo de caso sobre o BNDES, buscando entender o seu escopo de atuação e compromisso com a sustentabilidade como parte da sua razão de ser quanto organização, e, então, foram escolhidos para análise 5 exemplos de projetos/programas nos quais o banco investiu e possuem como foco o auxílio no enfrentamento das mudanças climáticas. Por fim, relacionando a análise destas estratégias com a etapa bibliográfica, chegou-se a uma conclusão sobre o papel que o BNDES possui, como banco de desenvolvimento brasileiro, no enfrentamento das mudanças climáticas. Entende-se, portanto, que o banco possui um papel indutor e ativo nesta crise climática, agindo conforme os conceitos de RSC e desenvolvimento sustentável. Entretanto, alguns questionamentos, quanto a extensão da sua ação, foram levantadas e sugestões tanto para a organização quanto para estudos futuros foram feitas.

[en] The present study aimed to identify and highlight the role of BNDES, as a Brazilian development bank, in facing the climate change crisis. To this end, a bibliographic survey was carried out on the subject, focusing on the concepts of sustainable development, corporate sustainability, and socio-environmental responsibility, forming a theoretical basis around the general concept of sustainability. After completing the bibliographic stage, a case study was made on BNDES, seeking to understand its scope of action and commitment to sustainability as part of its raison d être as an organization, and then 5 examples of projects/programs in which the bank invested and focused on helping to face climate change were chosen for analysis. Finally, by relating the analysis of these strategies with the bibliographic stage, a conclusion was reached regarding what kind of role the BNDES has, as a Brazilian development bank, in confronting climate change. It was concluded, therefore, that the bank has an inductive and active role in this climate crisis, acting in accordance with the concepts of CSR and sustainable development. However, some questions regarding the extent of its action were raised and suggestions were made both for the organization and for future studies.
