[pt] Esta tese reflete sobre as circunstâncias do trabalho desenvolvido pelas mulheres nas Escolas de Samba do Rio de Janeiro. O caminho percorrido para a discussão dos paradigmas femininos nessas agremiações parte do contexto de origem das Escolas de Samba cariocas e das inclusões e exclusões femininas neste processo, assim como dos seus atravessamentos por sistemas como o Estado, Indústria Cultural e criminalidade, que explicam muito das formas de construção e manutenção do feminino nestes espaços. Da mesma forma, a cultura de massa, com as transmissões televisivas, é utilizada como objeto de análise na investigação de uma consolidação do feminino no imaginário social, cujos impactos se dão não somente no âmbito objetivo – na forma como essas trabalhadoras são tratadas nos barracões – mas também no âmbito subjetivo, ao fomentar mitologias femininas que endossam, nessas mulheres, uma alienação em relação à própria condição. Além disso, a observação em campo do espaço ocupado por mulheres nos barracões e as formas de divisão sexual do trabalho existentes nestes locais, servem para refletirmos sobre a condição contemporânea do trabalho feminino que produz os desfiles das Escolas de Samba do Rio de Janeiro. Por fim, através de um trabalho prático, que envolve um registro fílmico em campo de algumas trabalhadoras e seus ofícios nos barracões das Escolas de Samba, pretende-se não somente registrar a presença feminina nestes espaços, mas também valorizar seus saberes e, assim, apontar possíveis alternativas de sustentabilidade para estas fazedoras de carnaval descoladas dos sistemas valorativos que regem o feminino nas Escolas de Samba, revelando outras práticas sociais de trabalho na relação artista/artesão, fazedor trabalhador.

[en] This thesis reflects on the circumstances of the work carried out by women in the Samba Schools of Rio de Janeiro. The path taken to discuss the female paradigms in these associations starts from the context of origin of the Rio de Janeiro Samba Schools and the female inclusions and exclusions in this process, as well as their crossings by systems such as the State, Cultural Industry and criminality, which explain much of the forms of construction and maintenance of the feminine in these spaces. Likewise, mass culture, with television broadcasts, is used as an object of analysis in the investigation of a consolidation of the feminine in the social imaginary, whose impacts occur not only in the objective scope - in the way these workers are treated in the production spaces called barracões - but also in the subjective scope, by promoting female mythologies that endorse, in these women, an alienation in relation to their own condition. In addition, the observation in the field of the space occupied by women in the sheds and the forms of sexual division of labor existing in these places, serve to reflect on the contemporary condition of female work that produces the parades of the Samba Schools in Rio de Janeiro. Finally, through a practical work, which involves a filmic record in the field of some workers and their crafts in the sheds of the Samba Schools, it is intended not only to register the female presence in these spaces, but also to value their knowledge and, thus, to point out possible sustainability alternatives for these carnival makers detached from the value systems that govern the feminine in the Samba Schools, revealing other social practices of work in the artist/craftsman, worker and maker relationship.
