[pt] A partir de uma experiência de conversação com Cláudio Pastro, o autor propõe uma releitura da capela universitária da Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, reformada pelo artista, na perspectiva de uma teologia menos discursiva e mais iconográfica. Na primeira parte, o artigo narra os aspectos que permitiram, a partir de conversas diversas, propor uma reforma desse espaço de culto e oração à luz do concílio Vaticano II, atestando o quanto a questão da imagem é fundamental na ética cristã, não delegando à estética um debate apenas sobre beleza e seu significado. O edifício cristão reúne um universo muito eloquente, em que se revela a visualização do que é celebrado. Na segunda parte, passa-se da pedagogia do espaço reformado a uma mistagogia, graças à simbologia dos monumentos litúrgicos e outros elementos da arte sacra, ícones da Igreja e da vida cristã. Enfim, à guisa de conclusão, uma síntese aberta, ensaiando novas interpretações da tradição jesuíta, do cristianismo e do próprio espaço litúrgico.

[en] From an experience of conversation with Cláudio Pastro, the author proposes a re-reading of the university chapel of Catholic University of Pernambuco, renovated by the artist, from the perspective of a less discursive and more iconographic theology. In the first part, the article narrates the aspects that made it possible, from a variety of discussions, to propose a renovation of this space of worship and prayer in the light of the Second Vatican Council, attesting how much the issue of image is fundamental in Christian ethics, not delegating to the aesthetics a debate only about beauty and its meaning. The Christian building brings together a very eloquent universe, in which the visualization of what is celebrated is revealed. In the second part, we move from the pedagogy of the renovated space to a mystagogy, thanks to the symbolism of liturgical monuments and other elements of sacred art, icons of the Church and Christian life. Finally, by way of conclusion, an open synthesis, rehearsing new interpretations of the Jesuit tradition, of Christianity and of liturgical space itself.
