[pt] O Sistema Único de Assistência Social - SUAS constitui-se numa das várias possibilidades de atuação profissional dos(as) sociólogos(as) nas políticas públicas. Apesar da longa luta de parcela dessa categoria pela inserção e valorização enquanto profissionais indispensáveis a um Sistema Único mais qualificado, o cenário se mantém muito aquém do esperado. Analisa-se a inserção do(a) profissional sociólogo(a) no SUAS em contraste aos pressupostos legais e normativos que a orientam, buscando a identificação dos principais desafios enfrentados e a proposição de ações. O trabalho, exploratório-descritivo e diagnóstico-propositivo, seguiu a metodologia de pesquisa documental, mediante análise de dados do Censo SUAS 2021. Complementarmente, relacionam-se alguns dados preliminares da Pesquisa Perfil do(a) Sociólogo(a) no Brasil (2022) e contextualizam-se alguns aspectos partindo de observação direta do contexto analisado. Evidencia-se que a participação dos(as) sociólogos( as) no SUAS é praticamente inexistente, não havendo o reconhecimento de sua importância no Sistema, pois as atribuições e competências da sociologia vêm sendo realizadas por outros trabalhadores, inclusive sem formação específica, dada a inexistência de contratação específica e a não atribuição de cargo à categoria. Verifica- se que isso se relaciona à ausência de legislação garantidora de real inclusão dos(as) sociólogos(as), somada a outras questões influentes sob seu campo profissional. Assim, inúmeras transformações são necessárias à verdadeiramente inclusão da categoria no SUAS, ao que são feitas algumas proposições fundamentais.

[en] The Unified Social Assistance System - SUAS constitute one of the many possibilities for sociologists professional performance in the public policies. Despite the long struggle of part of this category for their insertion as indispensable professionals for a more qualified Unified System, the scenario remains far from what was expected. The objective is to analyze the insertion of the professional sociologist in the SUAS in contrast to the legal and normative assumptions that guide it, seeking to identify the main challenges faced and propose actions. In this paper, of exploratory-descriptive and diagnostic-propositive character, we followed the methodology of documentary research, through the analysis of data from the Censo SUAS 2021. In addition, some preliminary data from the Profile Survey of the Sociologist in Brazil (2022) are also listed, and some aspects are contextualized from the direct observation of the analyzed context. The analyzes show that the participation of sociologists in SUAS is practically non-existent, with no recognition of its importance in the System, since the attributions and competences of sociology have been carried out by other types of workers, including without specific training, given the inexistence of a specific hiring and the non-assignment of a position to the category. It is also verified that this is related to the absence of legislation that guarantee, in fact, the inclusion of sociologists, which adds to other influential issues in their professional field. Thus, numerous transformations are necessary to truly include this category in the SUAS, to which some fundamental propositions are made.
