[pt] Em 2015 ocorreu um dos maiores desastres socioambientais do mundo, ocasionado
pelo rompimento da barragem da Samarco, no município de Mariana-MG.
Este trabalho analisa os efeitos socioambientais ocasionados para os ilheiros após
a chegada da lama de rejeitos em seu território, no município de Galiléia, Minas
gerais. Os resultados evidenciam ruptura abrupta na rotina, no trabalho e nas formas
de apropriação material e simbólica do território, conformando importante
processo de desterritorialização. Esse processo se desdobra em efeitos socioeconômicos
que promovem mudanças sociais, a partir do estabelecimento de novas
atividades econômicas para fins de reprodução da vida no território.
Resumo
[en] In the year of 2015, one of the biggest socio-environmental disasters in the world
occurred, caused by the rupture of the Samarco dam, in the municipality of Mariana-
MG. This work analyzes the socio-environmental effects caused to the islanders
after the arrival of the tailings mud in their territory, in the municipality of Galiléia,
Minas Gerais. The results show an abrupt rupture in the routine, in the work and in
the forms of material and symbolic appropriation of the territory, configuring an important
process of deterritorialization. This process unfolds in socioeconomic effects
that promote social changes, due to the establishment of new economic activities for
the purpose of reproducing life in the territory.
