[pt] O propósito da exaltação do Cordeiro na cena visionária em Apocalipse 5 tem sido debatido com foco nos aspectos reais e de juízo. Os intertextos provenientes de Daniel 7 e dos livros dos Reis sugerem que a exaltação do Cordeiro tem a finalidade de reinado ou juízo. No entanto, a cena se move do trono e livro selado para os aspectos sumo sacerdotais e expiatórios na apresentação do Cordeiro como tendo sido morto (Ap 5,6). No ápice da cena, os vinte e quatro anciãos apresentam diante do Cordeiro uma oferta de taças de ouro cheias de incenso (5,8), o que destaca a intercessão. A atenção a esses elementos bem como a intertextos provenientes de Números e Jeremias podem abrir novas perspectivas sobre o propósito da exaltação do Cordeiro. Com base na premissa de que o Apocalipse constrói suas narrativas em um processo de intertextualidade com a Bíblia Hebraica, este artigo discute o propósito da exaltação do Cordeiro em conexão com o ministério da expiação.

[en] The purpose of the Lamb s exaltation in the visionary scene in Revelation 5 has been debated with a focus on the kingship and judgment aspects. The intertexts from Daniel 7 and from the books of the Kings suggest that the exaltation of the Lamb has the purpose of kingship or judgment. However, the scene moves from the throne and sealed book to the high priestly and atoning aspects in the presentation of the Lamb as having been slain (Rev 5:6). At the apex of the scene, the twenty-four elders present before the Lamb an offering of golden bowls full of incense (5:8), which highlights intercession. The attention to these elements as well as to the intertexts from Numbers and Jeremiah can open new perspectives on the purpose of the Lamb s exaltation. Based on the premise that Revelation builds its narratives in a process of intertextuality with the Hebrew Bible, this article discusses the purpose of the Lamb’s exaltation in connection with the ministry of atonement.
