[pt] Este trabalho investiga o uso de zoônimos (nomes que designam animais) como metáforas no Português brasileiro. Foram analisadas 18 letras de músicas do cantor e compositor brasileiro Caetano Veloso, compostas no período compreendido entre 1968 e 2006, onde foram identificadas 21 metáforas animais. A partir desse corpus, os zoônimos foram examinados com base em seus significados literais, sentidos metafóricos e funções conversacionais que exercem dentro do contexto, identificando-se, ainda, se estas funções são positivas ou negativas. Objetiva-se, a partir dos dados gerados com este estudo, fornecer aos professores de Português como Segunda Língua para Estrangeiros (PL2E) um possível direcionamento para a abordagem de metáforas animais em suas aulas, o que permitirá o desenvolvimento de ferramentas que busquem facilitar a compreensão do tema pelos alunos.

[en] This work investigates the use of zoonyms (names that designate animals) as metaphors in Brazilian Portuguese. Eighteen song lyrics by Brazilian singer and songwriter Caetano Veloso were analyzed, composed between 1968 and 2006, where 21 animal metaphors were identified. From this corpus, zoonyms were examined based on their literal meanings, metaphorical meanings and conversational functions that they perform within the context, also identifying whether these functions are positive or negative. The objective, from the data generated with this study, is to provide Portuguese as a Second/Foreign Language (PL2E) teachers with a possible direction for approaching animal metaphors in their classes, which will allow the development of tools that seek to facilitate the understanding of the topic by students.
