[pt] Este artigo compõe a edição especial do periódico O Social em Questão n 54 em comemoração aos 85 anos do Departamento de Serviço Social - DSS e dos 50 anos do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Serviço Social - PPGSS da PUC-Rio. Tem como finalidade retratar a trajetória das ações desenvolvidas pelo Departamento, como no PPGSS a respeito da discussão socioambiental em função da trajetória que marca não somente as ações internas do DSS, mas também da Universidade, considerando que o Departamento, em muito contribuiu para as primeiras ações ambientais no contexto universitário e comunitário, articulados com outros Departamentos nas ações interdisciplinares, e no seu desdobramento estruturou a linha de pesquisa denominada, inicialmente, Questões socioambientais, estudos culturais e desenvolvimento sustentável e no decorrer dos anos, com a revisão curricular em 2010, passou a ser denominada: Questões Socioambientais, Urbanas e Formas de Resistência Social.

[en] This article is part of the special edition of the journal O Social em Questão n 54 in celebration of the 85th anniversary of the Department of Social Service - DSS and the 50th anniversary of the Postgraduate Program in Social Work - PPGSS at PUC-Rio. Its purpose is to portray the trajectory of the actions developed, by the Department as in the PPGSS regarding the socio-environmental discussion in function of the trajectory that marks not only the internal actions of the DSS, but also of the University, considering that the Department, greatly contributed to the first environmental actions in the university and community context, articulated with other Departments in interdisciplinary actions, and in its unfolding structured the line of research called, initially, Cultural Studies, Sustainable Development and Environment and over the years, with the curricular review in 2010, was renamed: Socio-environmental, Urban Issues and Forms of Social Resistance.
