[pt] Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar uma modalidade híbrida de interpretação que combina a simultânea com a consecutiva (daí o nome sim-consec), em que o intérprete grava os segmentos de fala do orador e faz a interpretação simultânea, a cada pausa do orador, a partir da reprodução do segmento gravado. Através da análise da literatura, corroborada por um experimento pessoal, serão discutidas as vantagens e desvantagens da técnica, como a vantagem de poder ouvir o segmento antes de interpretar e a de não precisar tomar notas, por um lado, e o desafio de precisar manusear um gravador e de não ter muita manobra para enxugar o discurso, por outro.

[en] This paper aims to show a hybrid interpreting mode which combines simultaneous and consecutive. In sim-consec, as it came to be known, the interpreter records each speech segment and interprets it simultaneously by listening to the playback of the recording. A literature review supported by a personal experiment points at the pros and cons of the technique. While being able to listen do the speech segment before interpreting it and not needing to rely on note-taking may be clear advantages, the interpreter needs to skillfully handle a recording device and cannot as easily eliminate redundancies and repetitions of the original speech, for example.
