[pt] Esta pesquisa bíblica, em forma de artigo científico, intitulada O cristianismo e a desigualdade social à luz da parábola do rico e do mendigo Lázaro, tem como tarefa principal identificar, dentro do contexto histórico e do contexto literário do texto bíblico e, também, através de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e de uma interpretação bíblico-teológica, o sentido original da mensagem da parábola do rico e do mendigo Lázaro em Lc 16,19-31, conforme aquela que se supõe ter sido a intenção do autor aos seus destinatários originais. A partir desta perspectiva, concluiu-se que o autor do evangelho de Lucas tinha a intenção de demonstrar que a parábola deve ser interpretada como uma advertência aos ricos, enfatizando a importância da administração dos bens e a necessidade de ajudar os pobres, e que no juízo final os seres humanos serão julgados pela forma como viveram e trataram os seus semelhantes e, que por fim, sofrerão as consequências dos seus atos.

[en] This biblical research, in the form of a scientific article, entitled Christianity and social inequality in the light of the parable of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus, has as its main task to identify, within the historical context and the literary context of the biblical text, and also, through a bibliographical research and a biblical-theological interpretation, the original meaning of the message of the parable of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31, according to what is supposed to have been the author s intention to its original recipients. From this perspective, it was concluded that the author of the Gospel of Luke intended to demonstrate that the parable should be interpreted as a warning to the rich, emphasizing the importance of the administration of goods and the need to help the poor, and that in the final judgment human beings will be judged for the way they lived and treated their fellow human beings and, ultimately, will suffer the consequences of their actions.
