[pt] Esse artigo se apresenta como uma meditação sobre a educação a qual quer reconhecer, na Mídia, uma aliada para transformar informações, em efetivos instrumentos de formação. A Escola está concebida como instituição que se concretiza na prática social e está perpassada por valores que expressam opções, inclusive, de natureza política. Nesse contexto, pretende-se pensar tarefas para a educação no processo de construção de uma cultura da paz. Com essa perspectiva, defende-se que não é mais possível ignorar o crescimento da presença dos diferentes Meios de Comunicação, na sociedade, contribuindo para formar opinião, influenciando atitudes, promovendo valores. O intento é compreender as diferentes imagens e mensagens da Mídia, como possibilidade de interação e comunicação, entre as pessoas.

[en] This paper can be viewed as a meditation about education wanting to ally itself with the Media in order to transform information into effective training instruments. School is conceived, as an institution that is materialized in social practice and that is permeated with values that express options, including those of a political nature. In this context, the aim is to draw up tasks for education as part of the process of building a culture of peace. In this perspective, it is taken for granted that it is no longer possible to ignore the increase of the presence of different Means of Communication in society. They contribute to how opinions are formed, attitudes are influenced, and values are promoted. The aim is to understand the different images and messages in the Media, as creating the possibility for interaction and communication among people.
